The salary for this permanent Staff Nurse job is £52,905 - £59,717 per annum.
Main Duties:
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the NMC Code (2015) guidelines to maintain trust and credibility with patients, carers, and colleagues.
- Stay current with developments in your professional discipline, clinical, and nursing practice, sharing clinical knowledge and experience.
- Contribute to developing a care philosophy that fosters a therapeutic environment for patients.
- Maintain a professional portfolio that showcases continuous skill, knowledge, and achievement development.
- Coordinate care for specific patients or patient groups by consistently creating care plans that meet treatment goals, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Enhance nursing practice by acquiring, interpreting, and applying research knowledge to pursue evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to setting and maintaining clinical area standards.
- Participate in clinical audits and enhance nursing care by serving as a role model in care delivery.
- Perform investigations and treatments proficiently according to defined standards, potentially acting as an independent and supplementary prescriber in specific clinical areas.
- Demonstrate effective infection prevention and challenge poor practices.
- Provide high-quality advice to patients, carers, and colleagues, incorporating health promotion themes into nursing practice.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and welfare of all children, adults, and families within your care, complying with all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and produce high-quality patient information.
- Lead and direct the team as needed, working collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, and developing team-building skills.
- Understand and promote team goals, effectively supervising junior staff.
- Seek opportunities for knowledge and skill development, participating constructively in the Performance Review and Appraisal System, and taking responsibility for lifelong learning.
- Assist junior staff in identifying and meeting learning objectives using teaching principles, contributing significantly to the physical environment and developing the Risk Management Plan for the area.
- Contribute to the ongoing audit of infection control within the clinical area.
Requirements of the Staff Nurse:
- 1st Level Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in general nursing
- Thorough knowledge of NMC Code (2015)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic keyboard skills
