Job Title: Band 6 Supported Living Deputy Manager (Nurse/Social Worker) - Adult Disability Service

Salary: £43,954 - £59,343 per annum
Sanctuary Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our client's adult disability service team. The role involves supporting individuals with learning disabilities across various settings, including residential homes, supported living, short break services, and the outreach team.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Assess service users with complex needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care programmes.
- Guide and advise other staff on care planning and implementation.
- Conduct risk assessments and take actions to minimise risks.
- Lead the team in emergency situations, ensuring user needs are met.
- Use data to inform decision-making processes.
- Adhere to professional standards and guidelines.
- Promote service user involvement and respect their wishes, beliefs, and dignity.
- Safeguard service users according to policy and guidelines.
Training and Education:
- Lead health and well-being promotions for service users and their families.
- Supervise and mentor staff and students.
- Create a conducive learning environment.
- Develop learning programmes for staff.
- Maintain personal professional development.
- Undertake in-house annual mandatory training.
Leadership and Management:
- Assist in recruiting and retaining team members.
- Coordinate the team, ensuring effective communication and addressing issues.
- Ensure team awareness of organisational policies and objectives.
- Conduct professional development reviews and support staff development.
- Serve as a role model for junior staff.
- Assist with roster planning and budget management.
- Participate in annual business plan preparation and implementation.
- Act as the manager in their absence.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with service users and their families.
- Communicate clearly with the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage conflicts among staff, service users, and their families.
- Advocate for service users and their families.
- Ensure written communication meets organisational standards.
Audit, IT, and Research:
- Initiate and conduct clinical audits to maintain practice standards.
- Manage the incident reporting system.
- Promote evidence-based practice.
- Lead the development of practice.
- Access relevant electronic information systems.
Revalidation:
- Maintain effective registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Manage all aspects of Revalidation requirements, including keeping an up-to-date portfolio.
- Assist colleagues with their Revalidation requirements.
Key Criteria:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse or Social Worker
- Evidence of CPD at diploma level
Full Qualifications:
- Teaching/mentoring qualification
- Diploma in a related field
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (D32/33, NVQ A1)
Essential Skills:
- Good IT skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Valid driving licence (negotiable depending on the area)
- Leadership and management skills
- Caring and empathetic nature
- Understanding of learning disabilities or willingness to learn
