Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Team Leader to work full-time based in an Adult’s home in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Team Leader job is up to £47,590.

Main Duties:

  • The post holder is a member of the adult disability service that supports people with a learning disability and autism. The post holder can be based in various settings including residential homes, supported living, short break service and the outreach team
  • Staff must work a shift system that offers support 24 hours a day
  • Staff are involved in all aspects of maintaining the area using the active support model, including cleaning, shopping, washing, ironing, cooking, etc. Service users will be encouraged to participate in these activities with the staff
  • Staff are expected to hold a driving licence and be prepared to drive service vehicles. The Manager can apply a level of flexibility with this requirement
  • Band 5 staff are expected to be able to coordinate and lead a team within the service, as well as develop and implement programmes of care and support

Requirements of this job:

  • Registered Health or Social Care Professional, e.g. Nurse, Speech and Language Therapist, OT, Registered Behaviour Technician or Social Worker
  • Degree in Health and Social Care plus proven experience in supporting people with a learning disability and autism
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • To hold a valid driving licence (this may be negotiated with the manager depending on area)
  • Leadership skills
  • Caring and empathetic nature
  • good understanding of learning disabilities and autism
  • An understanding of person-centred care and support
  • An understanding of positive behavioural support
