Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Care Team Leader to work full time based in a Children’s home in Kendal.

The salary for this permanent Care Team Leader job is up to £ £30,296 to £32,076

Main Duties:

  • Support, assist, provide guidance and boundaries for looked after children and young people, in a safe and stable residential environment, on an individual and group basis
  • Actively safeguard, promote the welfare and advocate on behalf of children and young people to ensure that the quality of care is consistent with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, and the Home’s Statement of Purpose
  • Actively promote the role’s safeguarding aspects, leading by example with outstanding safeguarding practice
  • Liaise with senior management and external parties such as Local Authorities, schools, health, and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for residents
  • Lead, supervise and support staff members at junior levels as they provide round the clock care and support that is consistent with the home’s ethos and culture as set out in its Statement of Purpose
  • Assist the Home’s Management team in ensuring that policies, procedures and record keeping measures are adhered to, and resources are deployed effectively and efficiently, so that the Home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose
  • Assist management in maintaining a competent, safe, motivated & confident staff team
  • Actively promote the Home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices
  • Ensuring all children and young people’s care plans are followed effectively, addressing care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs
  • Acting as a Key Worker for specific individuals, assuming principal responsibility for reviewing, implementing and amending the relevant childcare plans
  • Delivering a high standard of childcare practice and always exercising appropriate levels of guidance and control over children and young people, maintaining the security and ethos of the Home
  • Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality as per the prevailing data protection legislation and Company’s policies and procedures
  • Recording all significant observations and contributing to the ongoing assessment of children and young people’s needs through active participation in meetings with staff members, parents, families, carers and other professionals

Requirements of this job:

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within Children’s residential care
  • Ability to show leadership skills
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections
