Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Deputy Director of Clinical Services to provide overall clinical leadership and operational management to our client's Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Pre-Assessment, and Outpatients, including Minor Ops. This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS).

Role Overview:

This varied role involves working across multiple departments, collaborating with colleagues from Wards, Diagnostic Imaging, Critical Care, Pharmacy, and Pathology, and engaging with numerous internal, external, and group-level stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide robust evidence and assurance of compliance (both regulatory and internal) to the DCS.
  • Ensure clinical teams deliver effective patient care.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to clinical teams, ensuring best practices at all times.
  • Support the Senior Management Team (SMT) with hospital strategy and directives to meet operational requirements.
  • Review and establish new trends, introducing and embedding innovation and excellence into clinical practice.
  • Be responsible for reviewing and updating Clinical Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Attend and chair various clinical meetings.
  • Lead and manage change effectively.
  • Offer expert clinical guidance as necessary.
  • Support and manage clinical pathways to ensure safe patient journeys.
  • Engage with and support the patient experience.
  • Manage multiple clinical staff, ensuring career development and appraisals are conducted.
  • Ensure robust clinical governance practices are in place and lessons are learned.
  • Comply with all CQC standards, ensuring the hospital is always “inspection ready.”

Who They're Looking For:

  • Registered healthcare professional with active NMC registration, ideally with clinical management experience in the areas mentioned above.
  • At least 2 years in a management position with a track record of motivating and developing clinical teams and successfully applying performance management.
  • Evidence of managing change and supporting strategic management initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting the commercial development of clinical services, including creating new business and innovative opportunities.
  • Experience in consultant engagement to enhance business performance and influence best practices.
  • Experience in data reporting and patient outcomes (e.g., NICOR/JAG).
