Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Staff Nurse (RGN) to join a dedicated community-based team in Guernsey. This Band 6 role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care in the community, supporting individuals through quality nursing practices, mentorship, and compassionate leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Standards of Care: Oversee and uphold high standards of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programmes for a diverse group of patients/clients within the community setting.

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a leader, advisor, and role model for less experienced nursing staff, ensuring that exemplary care standards are implemented and maintained.

  • Quality Assurance: Play an active role in quality assurance initiatives by developing action plans, setting targets, and measuring outcomes to improve patient care quality and service effectiveness.

  • Teaching and Development: Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programmes for both qualified and unqualified staff and students. This includes acting as an assessor for students, newly qualified nurses, and as a clinical supervisor.

  • Professional Development: Support the professional development of nursing staff, participating in training initiatives tailored to the needs of registered and unqualified nursing personnel.

  • Community Service Coverage: Provide coverage across community nursing teams as needed and take on the duty nurse role for adult community services as required.

  • Driving Licence: Must hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle for community visits.
