Main Duties:
- Conduct assessments of patients/clients with complex care needs, including those with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care programs tailored to meet these identified needs.
- Provide guidance, advice, and direction to other staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient/client care.
- Initiate risk assessment processes to identify and mitigate risks to the health and well-being of patients/clients with complex care needs.
- Lead a team during emergency and acute situations, ensuring patient/client needs are met and support is provided to significant others.
- Utilize information and data from various sources to identify patient/client issues and guide decision-making processes. Within expertise and organizational policies, request specific clinical tests to aid diagnosis.
- Facilitate service user involvement in care planning, delivery, and evaluation, honoring their preferences, beliefs, and dignity.
- Independently communicate and collaborate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in patient/client care.
Requirements for the Senior Staff Nurse role:
- urrent registration with NMC.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) at diploma level.
- Post-registration experience.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Evidence of teaching/supervisory skills.
- Excellent clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both colleagues and clients.
- Good motivational skills.
- Experience performing appraisals.
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team.
