Role Responsibilities:
As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the smooth operation of the healthcare service.
- Clinical Leadership: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the NMC Code, ensuring trust and credibility with patients, carers, and colleagues.
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Adhere to legislative and organizational policies, including the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Care Coordination: Develop and implement care plans to achieve patient-centered treatment goals, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Patient Advocacy: Safeguard patient wellbeing, report concerns, and liaise with community providers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
- Risk Management: Identify and escalate risks, ensuring safeguards are in place while fostering a culture of openness and transparency.
- Team Support: Facilitate staff rostering, resource management, and timely patient discharges to maintain a value-driven and efficient healthcare environment.
- Professional Development: Engage in appraisal processes, contribute to audits, and stay updated with best practices to uphold the highest standards of clinical care.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- First-level Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
- DipHE or Degree-level qualification in nursing or equivalent.
- Evidence of supervisor preparation study day.
- Basic Life Support and Immediate Life Support training.
- Up-to-date personal portfolio demonstrating clinical, managerial, and educational expertise in nursing.
- Thorough understanding of safe healthcare practices, governance, and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of clinical and human factors in patient safety.
