As a Senior Staff Nurse within our client's Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care Inpatient Ward, you’ll play a key role in the smooth operation of the department. They’ll look to you as an expert in your field to support and mentor junior nurses, using your in-depth clinical knowledge to guide and support them while also stepping up to lead the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.

This role is varied. One day you could be implementing and evaluating holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team; the next, participating in audits or quality improvement projects to continually enhance the care they provide. Shift Pattern: 

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexibility required to work long days, nights & weekends

What you’ll bring:

  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
  • Experience working within Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and complex care needs
  • Experience with tracheostomised patients is desirable
  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues
  • Teaching and mentoring experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
  • Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable
