The salary for this permanent Senior Staff Nurs ejob is £31,531 - £42,715 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Emergency Leadership: As the lead nurse on the emergency rota, you will participate in hospital-wide emergency teams for both adults and paediatrics, regularly taking charge of the Emergency Department.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional Development: You should demonstrate portfolio evidence of specialised training and development in emergency nursing, including Advanced Life Support (ALS), European Paediatric Life Support (EPLS), and ideally Advanced Trauma Nursing Care (ATNC).
  • Clinical Proficiency: Proficiency in cannulation, venepuncture, and plastering is expected.
  • Patient Care: You will be responsible for independently assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care programmes.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: A key part of your role will involve supervising junior staff, participating in the induction of new team members, and serving as a strong role model.

Requirements of the Senior Staff Nurse:

  • NMC Registration: Required as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Experience: Ideally, at least 3 years of experience working in an emergency setting, with expertise in both Adult and Paediatric Resuscitation.
