About the Role:

Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our client's exceptional Inpatients department. As a member of this team, you will work under the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and Consultant Surgeons to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing both outpatient and inpatient procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model for the team and advocate for patients, ensuring a supportive and positive experience.
  • Provide expert knowledge and support in planning and delivering patient care, including treatment and aftercare.
  • Operate within a governance framework, adhering to national and local regulatory requirements, as well as clinical and professional standards.
  • Maintain clinical competency through ongoing learning and development.
  • Offer support and supervision to junior staff members as needed.
  • Promote high standards of clinical care and contribute to the development of the cosmetic service.
  • Report to the Clinical Nurse Specialist and take on delegated responsibilities in their absence.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • First Level Registered Nurse with evidence of continuing professional development and revalidation.
  • Relevant healthcare degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in a surgical nursing environment.
  • Knowledge of wound care and tissue viability, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Experience or willingness to train in preoperative assessment.
  • Skills in phlebotomy and ECG.
  • ILS training and mentorship qualification.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Methodical approach with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with audit processes or willingness to learn.
