Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures based on physician requisitions, ensuring high-quality images for accuracy and potential pathology detection.
- Operate and maintain imaging and support equipment (e.g., laser printers, PACS) safely and efficiently.
- Safely transport and use portable equipment in designated hospital areas, following critical care area policies, sterile techniques, and anesthesia safety standards.
- Continuously develop professional skills through participation in educational programs and maintaining competency in imaging technologies.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control practices to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Rotate through various imaging modalities (e.g., Radiology, CAT Scan, MRI) as required to gain experience or certifications in specialized areas.
Qualifications & Registration Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
- Mandatory Registration/Certification with an accredited program in one or more of the following modalities: Radiology, CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Bone Density. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council.
- Level 1 Imaging Technologist (Entry-Level):
- 0-2 years of post-graduate experience (preferred for newly qualified Bermudians with relevant certification).
- Specialisation in a single modality (e.g., Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, MRI) is an advantage.
- Level 2 Imaging Technologist (Experienced):
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in a relevant field.
- Additional certifications in specialized modalities such as Mammography, CAT Scan, or Bone Densitometry are highly desirable.
