Pay Rate: £15.93 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract Length: Initial contrcat is 5 months

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, mainly working from home but may include working in the office as and when required.

Main Duties of the School Admissions Caseworker:

  • Assist in processing all parental preferences for school places.
  • Liaise with other County Council departments, external agencies, and organizations to which work is outsourced.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national admissions legislation and local policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to other Local Authority staff, schools, and parents.
  • Supply relevant information to support the team's work on independent school admission appeals.
  • Assist in providing appropriate statistical information.
  • Advise parents on mid-year, secondary transfer, and primary school admission processes, and handle individual casework as necessary.
  • Communicate with Headteachers and school administrative staff on admissions-related matters, including explaining the application of statutory Codes to individual cases.

 Requirements of the School Admissions Caseworker:

  • Preferably at least 3 years of experience working in a local authority, school, or equivalent setting.
  • Proof of ability to work and reside in the UK, current DBS check, and two references.
  • Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute independently.
