Pay Rate: £19.55 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum ongoing contract, Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time 

Main Duties:

 

  • Lead, supervise, and evaluate a programme of Enrichment activities to enhance the college community, building positive relationships with students and directing them to appropriate support services and opportunities.
  • Promote and develop the Inspiring Futures/KC Xtra programme at the Kingston site, integrating personal development and encouraging active participation in college life.
  • Establish and maintain strong connections with college staff and external organisations to enhance the enrichment offerings.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and monitor student participation in activities, providing strategies to boost engagement and optimise resources.
  • Manage effective student communication systems, including notice boards, plasma screens, intranet, social media, leaflets, and posters, to promote enrichment activities.
  • Plan and deliver cross-college workshops, presentations, and events, including induction sessions.
  • Identify at-risk students within group settings and provide one-on-one pastoral support as needed.
  • Prepare and review health and safety risk assessments related to activities.
  • Participate in College Open/Admissions Events and contribute to broader Student Services events such as Freshers’ Fairs.
  • Encourage student engagement in the 'Learner Voice' initiative, gathering feedback and collaborating with student representatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and activities to evaluate service delivery and monitor student progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with curriculum departments and external partners to support at-risk students through targeted initiatives.
  • Produce reports and provide information for evaluating the Service's performance.
  • Work closely with the Student Support Services Team to promote a holistic approach to student engagement and assist with broader Student Services activities as needed.

 

Requirements of the Enrichment Officer:

  • Qualification: Level 3 or higher in a relevant field such as youth and community work, education, psychology, sociology, health and social care, or information, advice, and guidance (IAG).
  • Experience: Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering activities for young people, primarily aged 16-19, within an educational setting or a similar environment.
