Pay Rate: £11.79 - £14 per hour
Hours: Locum 3 month contract. Part-time. 7.30am to 9.30am (transport to school) - 2.30pm to 5.30pm (collect from school). You must be able to work from Monday - Friday.
Main Duties of the Passenger Assistant:
- Passenger Safety: Ensure that passengers board and exit the vehicle safely.
- Secure Seating: Confirm that passengers are seated securely, facing forward, and wearing properly adjusted seat belts or appropriate child restraints throughout the journey.
- Safe Storage: Ensure all luggage and bags are safely stored before the journey begins.
- Wheelchair Restraints: Fit and secure wheelchair restraints and clamping systems, including clamps, webbing, rear locks, and quick lock systems.
- Manual Handling: Assist with manual handling of clients, limited to very small children, and only after receiving proper training.
- Communication Liaison: Relay important information between parents/guardians and the school, acting as a liaison among the school, parents, transport company, and school transport supervisor/section.
Requirements of the Passenger Assistant:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Recent Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and two references.
- Proof of right to work and live in the UK. Must have a current DBS check and provide 2 references.
