Main responsibilities:

  • Leadership Support: Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operations and management of the nursery.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff, ensuring high standards of care and education.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Support the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, fostering a creative and engaging learning environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the nursery meets all statutory requirements, including OFSTED standards, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding policies.
  • Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Quality Improvement: Assist in monitoring and evaluating nursery practices, implementing improvements to maintain the highest standards.
  • Operational Duties: Manage administrative tasks, including staff rotas, attendance records, and inventory management.

Requirements of the Nursery Deputy Team Manager:

  • Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification: NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent (Level 5 or above preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a managerial role within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and OFSTED requirements.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • First Aid: Paediatric First Aid certification is essential.
  • Safeguarding: Thorough knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
