About the Role
As a Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while contributing to the development and enhancement of the healthcare services provided. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of training and education programs, supporting the philosophy of the States of Guernsey.
- Complete mandatory training, including Manual Handling, Basic Life Support, Fire Safety, and AED.
- Serve as a health promoter and educator, guiding patients, families, and carers.
- Engage in clinical supervision to maintain high care standards and support evidence-based practices.
- Assist in orientating new staff, providing essential support during their induction.
- Support junior staff and learners, offering guidance and assessments to encourage their professional growth.
- Participate in appraisals to set and achieve goals aligned with both personal development and organisational objectives.
- Take on a mentorship role, if holding the relevant qualifications, to further support staff development.
To be Successful in this role:
- Active NMC Registration as a first-level nurse.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, service users, carers, and managers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks independently.
- Proficiency in evidence-based care practices and delivering high standards of patient care.
- A commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
- A comprehensive portfolio aligned with the KSF criteria.
- Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a high standard of ethics in all aspects of the role.
- Skilled in the administration of intravenous medications and other nursing duties.
