Shift Pattern: 35 hours per week
Salary: £75,000 per annum (tax-free)

Key Responsibilities
As part of the Medical/Surgical Admin Team, your role will include:

  • Specialised Patient Care: Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy treatments while closely monitoring patients for safety and efficacy.
  • Holistic Care Planning: Serve as a primary care nurse, assessing patient and family needs, creating tailored care plans, and executing interventions.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely with Oncologists, Pharmacists, and the healthcare team to gather patient histories, collect specimens, evaluate treatments, and educate patients.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: Keep the Clinical Manager or Nurse in Charge informed of any patient status changes or concerns.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a preceptor and role model for junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in Quality Improvement activities, research initiatives, staff meetings, and educational programmes.
  • Additional Duties: Perform delegated medical acts and ensure equipment and resources are used effectively.

Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum of two years of recent post-graduate experience as an Oncology Nurse, with expertise in administering chemotherapy.
  • Certifications:
  • Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Preferred:
  • Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONC™) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
  • Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification.
  • Exceptional intravenous skills, including starting, maintaining, and troubleshooting IV access.
  • Experience with implanted ports is essential.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient assessment abilities.
