Job Title: Work in Bermuda - Registered Nurse - ACW Medical/Surgical Admin Team
Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 35 hours per week
Salary: £75,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy while monitoring patients during their treatments.
  • Serve as a primary care nurse by assessing client/patient and family needs and formulating care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Oncologists, Pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team to obtain patient histories, collect specimens, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and educate patients on treatment and follow-up care.
  • Consult with Oncologists regarding patients' status and progress.
  • Keep the Clinical Manager / Nurse in Charge informed of any changes and problems related to assigned patients.
  • Participate in unit Quality Improvement activities and approved research projects.
  • Act as a preceptor/monitor and role model for new junior staff and peers.
  • Participate in committees, attend staff meetings, in-services, and educational programs.
  • Perform additional nursing and delegated medical acts as required.

Qualifications and Registration Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council, as required.
  • Minimum of two years of current post-graduate experience as an Oncology Nurse administering Chemotherapy.
  • Current certification: BCLS required.
  • Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONC™) (Chemo) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification preferred.
  • Excellent intravenous skills, including starting, maintaining, and troubleshooting common intravenous access. Experience with implanted ports is required.
