Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy while closely monitoring patients throughout their treatments.
  • Serve as a primary care nurse, assessing patient and family needs, creating care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Oncologists, Pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care.
  • Consult with Oncologists about patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Inform the Clinical Manager or Nurse in Charge of significant changes or challenges related to patient care.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and approved research projects.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, serving as a preceptor and role model.
  • Contribute actively to committees, staff meetings, in-services, and educational programs.
  • Perform additional nursing and delegated medical tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • At least two years of post-graduate experience as an Oncology Nurse administering chemotherapy.
  • Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) is required.
  • Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONC™) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification is preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient intravenous skills, including managing implanted ports.
