Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and closely monitor hemodialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Serve as a primary care nurse by assessing patient and family needs, formulating care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to discuss patient progress and status.
- Keep the Clinical Manager or Nurse in Charge informed of any significant changes or challenges.
- Lead the team when required, efficiently utilising clinical, hospital, and community resources.
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and approved research projects.
- Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Attend and contribute to committees, staff meetings, in-service training, and educational programs.
- Safely and economically manage equipment and supplies.
- Perform additional nursing and delegated medical tasks as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- Minimum of two years of recent post-graduate experience as a Dialysis Nurse.
- Current certifications in CPR; ACLS certification is preferred.
- Strong experience in physical assessment.
- Completion of a formal dialysis course is a significant advantage.
