Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and closely monitor hemodialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Serve as a primary care nurse by assessing patient and family needs, formulating care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to discuss patient progress and status.
  • Keep the Clinical Manager or Nurse in Charge informed of any significant changes or challenges.
  • Lead the team when required, efficiently utilising clinical, hospital, and community resources.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and approved research projects.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Attend and contribute to committees, staff meetings, in-service training, and educational programs.
  • Safely and economically manage equipment and supplies.
  • Perform additional nursing and delegated medical tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • Minimum of two years of recent post-graduate experience as a Dialysis Nurse.
  • Current certifications in CPR; ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Strong experience in physical assessment.
  • Completion of a formal dialysis course is a significant advantage.
