Key Responsibilities:
As a Dialysis Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing life-changing care to patients. Your duties will include:
- Initiating and monitoring hemodialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Acting as a primary care nurse, assessing patient and family needs, developing individualized care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to monitor patient progress and address any changes or concerns.
- Taking on leadership roles when required, utilizing clinical, hospital, and community resources effectively.
- Participating in Quality Improvement activities and approved research projects.
- Serving as a preceptor/mentor and role model for junior staff and peers.
- Engaging in committees, staff meetings, and educational programs to contribute to team development.
- Ensuring the safe and economical use of equipment and supplies.
Qualifications & Registration Required:
- Registered Nurse qualification with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- A minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience as a Dialysis Nurse.
- Current certifications in CPR (ACLS preferred).
- Strong experience in physical assessment and patient care.
- Completion of a formal dialysis course (preferred but not essential).
