Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Child/RSCN to join our client's dedicated team in a specialist paediatric setting. Summary of Practice Area:

Their facility includes a general paediatric ward with 9 beds, catering to the acute healthcare needs of children across the region. Additionally, within the ward, the Neonatal Unit provides specialised care to babies from 34 weeks gestation, encompassing intensive care, high dependency, and special care services.

Job Summary:

This rotational post will involve working across both the ward and neonatal unit, under the guidance of senior nursing staff, including a Practice Development Lead. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care to babies, sick children, and young people during their allocated shifts. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans in accordance with paediatric and neonatal care philosophies and organisational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support and educate parents/guardians in caring for their child.
  • Act as a role model, contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional standards.

Relationships:

  • Reporting to senior nurses, the role is accountable to the Paediatric Clinical Lead and the Associate Director of Maternity and Paediatrics.

Key Tasks:

  • Clinical Responsibilities: Develop and implement care programmes, initiate emergency interventions, and maintain high standards of nursing care.
  • Training and Education: Participate in departmental training and contribute to the development of nursing skills.
  • Leadership/Managerial: Gain experience in leadership under supervision.
  • Communication: Coordinate discharge arrangements and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Audit/Information Technology: Participate in clinical audits and utilise organisational electronic systems.

Revalidation:

  • Ensure compliance with Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements for effective registration and Revalidation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • RN Child/RSCN.

Desired Qualifications:

  • EPLS (desirable).
