Main duties of the Paediatric Nurse:
- Work closely with the members of the Community Paediatric service in developing, implementing, and monitoring care provided to children, young people and their families
- Be a key member of the ADHD multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with Consultant Paediatricians and other health professionals
- Work autonomously, taking the lead in preliminary assessments of new referrals using the agreed assessment tools and analysis of the resulting information
- Undertake and record observations within schools, clinics, and home settings
- Act as a Non- medical prescriber for ADHD related medicines, in line with NMC, NICE and national guidelines around medicines optimisation prescribing
Requirements of the Paediatric Nurse:
- RGN qualified/NMC registered with valid live pin
- Recent UK nursing experience
- Must have Paediatric/Children/School Nursing experience
- Evidence of continuous professional development within the last two years
- Independent/ Supplementary prescriber (V300)
- Principles of physical health assessment qualification
