Sanctuary Personnel are looking for a Technical Architect / Enterprise Architect – Digital Data and Technology, at a Principal/Lead level.

This is a contract role aiming to start 01/09/2024 on a yearlong basis ending 31/08/2025.

This role is paying £684.77 a day PAYE or £880 a day via an Umbrella company.

37 Hours a week

Based in Exeter the job may be suitable for hybrid/Remote working depending on the candidate.

The Job-

As a Technology leader, you'll be responsible for defining and collaborating on solutions that make a difference to help everyone stay safe and thrive. You'll be, working in an organisation with some of the most advanced technology both within and outside UK government and enabling the realisation of weather and climate science to services. We need great people to join us and help us exploit all the technological benefits that the £1.2B investment in our supercomputer will bring.

The role is focused on our supercomputer (and associated systems) design, configuration, and processes, to make the best out of the available resource for the different classes of user. You would be working with colleagues and suppliers to deliver future generations of our supercomputing capability.

  • The Principal Technical Architect provides design leadership and assurance across a business domain in support of the delivery of Met Office strategy.
  • Reporting directly to the CTO, the Principal Technical Architect will lead the overall technical design and delivery across the Products & Services domain, ensuring technical coherence whilst identifying and resolving gaps that may risk ultimate achievement of benefits or threaten longer term sustainability.  
  • The post holder will work with Lead Technical Architects and delivery teams, including external partners, in the delivery of the projects and programmes evolving the domain, ensuring alignment to our strategy, relevant standards and the overarching enterprise architecture as set out by the Enterprise Design function.
  • Support programme and project managers in shaping delivery activities to ensure a smooth transition of work into operational capability including advising on changes across technology, information, people, process, and environmental data.
