Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to take the next step in your career? If so, join our client's team as a Lead Occupational Therapist.
You will be joining a service for adults and adolescents with mental health issues. The clinic consists of 2 adult acute wards and 2 CAMHS low secure wards.
About Our Client:
You will be working for an established, stable, and agile company with over 8,000 employees and a unique approach to the delivery of care. With a network of over 90 services across England and Wales covering Mental Health, Neurological, Learning Disabilities & Autism, and Children & Education, there is an opportunity for you to grow and move.
What you will be doing
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will be managing and leading the Occupational Therapy Service across the CAMHS and Adult services, using evidence-based and patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions. These interventions will provide patients with the confidence, skills, and coping strategies required for independent living.
You will report directly to the Therapy Lead, with the opportunity to work autonomously in your running of the OT department. Given the complexity of the CAMHS cases, it is expected that the majority of your direct clinical work will be on the CAMHS wards, and you will act as an ‘internal care coordinator’ to some of the families.
You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities, and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication by the Occupational Therapists.
You will need to be confident in the application of your OT skills and knowledge, highly adaptable, and able to tailor your intervention to the needs of our service users. The young people on the CAMHS wards, in particular, often have highly complex backgrounds with co-morbid presentations and have experienced a number of unsuccessful interventions and previous inpatient admissions. You will need to be patient, sensitive, and determined to engage them in therapy.
As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will be:
- Receiving and responding promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions, either on an individual or group basis.
- Working to develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities/therapies under the strategic direction of the Therapy Lead and other members of the Senior Management Team.
- Ensuring the effective and efficient management of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapist Assistants, and students.
- Planning and implementing individual and group interventions collaboratively with service users.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be qualified and registered as an Occupational Therapist.
- At least 3 years post-qualifying experience.
- Substantial experience of working within mental health, preferably with both CAMHS and Adult experience.
- Substantial experience of inpatient work.
What you will get:
- Annual salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience.
- The equivalent of 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays) – plus your birthday off!
- Free meals and parking.
- Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance.
- Career development and training to help you achieve your career goals.
- Pension contribution to secure your future.
- Life Assurance for added peace of mind.
- Enhanced Maternity Package so you can truly enjoy this special time.
There is also a range of other benefits including retail discounts and special offers, car leasing without a credit check, and much more.
