Sanctuary Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our client's dynamic team as a Family Therapist on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role:

As a family therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing systemic-oriented therapy to patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include liaising with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and contributing to clinical assessment and treatment.

Principle Duties:

  • Undertake therapeutic work with patients and their families, aligned with the unit's treatment philosophy. This includes working with inpatients, outpatients, and day patients.
  • Maintain effective clinical records and casework notes in accordance with policy developments.
  • Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), participating in clinical team meetings and other departmental meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in relevant clinical audit projects.
  • Attend team meetings to enhance team cooperation and performance.
  • Collaborate with various other disciplines.
  • Apply systemic theory to work with individuals, couples, family systems, groups, and organisations, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of other therapeutic modalities and use a variety of approaches within systemic practice.

Skills & Requirements:

Education:

  • Qualification in a relevant mental health/social welfare profession such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, or Counselling
  • Fully qualified in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy to Masters level or AFT agreed equivalent
  • UKCP Registered

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Highly specialist skills in systemic assessment and therapy of individuals, couples, and families, often requiring sustained and intense concentration
  • Advanced clinical skills
  • Ability to apply theory to practice with various groups and organisations
  • Capability to provide services in complex community environments to meet the needs of clients and families
  • Multi-tasking, prioritisation, and flexible working skills
  • Competence in communicating distressing and unwelcome information to children, adolescents, and their families
  • Sensitivity in handling stressful situations
  • Experience in delivering interventions for eating disorders
  • Proficiency in delivering systemic therapy to families with high levels of risk and complexity
  • Knowledge and experience in managing safeguarding issues and risks
  • Experience in working within a complex multi-agency network
  • Significant experience working with children, young people, and families in emotional crisis
  • Expertise in risk assessment and risk management
