Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Assessing Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work based in Northamptonshire.
The salary for this permanent Senior Assessing Social Worker job is up to £48,000 per annum.
Main duties:
- Will complete assessments of new foster carers, existing foster carers wishing to progress.
- Will gather information from potential carers to progress checks, undertake assessments in line with key performance indicators.
- Liaise with Project Support with regards to progress of checks.
- Liaise with the Team Manager and Systemic Family Therapist to review the assessment at check points (this will include a review of how the potential foster carers have been in training).
- Liaise with the Local Authorities Supervising Social Worker and Innovates Therapeutic Team Manager and Family Systemic Therapist about he skills, strengths, areas of development for the foster carer.
- Provide a short report on the potential carers identified needs to inform training, and or therapeutic intervention planning.
- Supporting and upskilling Local Authorities Supervising Social Workers in terms of their assessments and role.
- To have regard for the cultural needs of children and families from black and minority ethnic groups ensuring that the work progress and the overall ethos of the therapeutic service is, reflective of their requirements and needs.
- To ensure high standards of record keeping and report writing where requested to evidence the plan of work and outcomes achieved.
- Will provide some on call support as part of the therapeutic team on call rota (this will include some evenings and weekends).
Requirements of this role:
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a Fostering Service.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
- This post requires registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
