Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Home Deputy Manager to work full time based in a Children’s home in South Croydon.
The salary for this permanent Children’s Home Deputy Manager job is up to £41,000
Main Duties:
- To ensure that services and support are provided in a Child centred way, as part of the therapeutic community practice framework
- To contribute to the overall development of the services, and to ensure compliance with regulation
- The promotion of the therapeutic community within the home, supporting both the children and staff members to invest in the community in the home
- To assist with the safer recruitment of staff within the Home in conjunction with the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager where appropriate
- To supervise staff in line with regulation and the homes SOP
- To maintain the homes Statement of Purpose and always ensure the home functions in line with this
- To Contribute to individual staff development by way of their personal development plans, “in house" training programmes, and external training
- To Implement a rota system that ensures the most effective use of staff to always support the needs of the children
- Actively promote and maintain a close working partnership with parents/carers and other significant people in the lives of children, to promote their best interests and ensure positive outcomes
- To ensure that staff are familiar with and adhere to the care plans as agreed for the children in the home
- To ensure that guidelines for the administration and safe keeping of Medication are made available to all members of staff and that these are adhered to
- To be deputise for the registered manager for aspects of day-to-day operational management of the home
Requirements of this job:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management in Children’s Residential qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within at supervisory experience in Children’s residential care
- Ability to show leadership skills
- Experience of managing budgets
- Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections
