Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care safely and efficiently.
- Exhibit exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations.
- Utilise the nursing process to develop a care plan for each assigned patient.
- Act as a patient advocate, liaising between the patient, family, and healthcare team.
- Initiate and participate in patient care conferences.
- Use equipment and supplies safely and economically.
- Assign, advise, and direct support personnel as required.
- Assume in-charge duties when necessary.
- Take responsibility for professional development by participating in continuing education programmes, keeping up-to-date with professional literature, and engaging in professional organisations.
Qualifications & Registration Required:
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Critical Care Nursing course certification.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
- Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- Two years of continuous recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU.
- Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), IV Therapy.
- Essential experience in physical assessment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
