Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care safely and efficiently.
  • Exhibit exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations.
  • Utilise the nursing process to develop a care plan for each assigned patient.
  • Act as a patient advocate, liaising between the patient, family, and healthcare team.
  • Initiate and participate in patient care conferences.
  • Use equipment and supplies safely and economically.
  • Assign, advise, and direct support personnel as required.
  • Assume in-charge duties when necessary.
  • Take responsibility for professional development by participating in continuing education programmes, keeping up-to-date with professional literature, and engaging in professional organisations.

Qualifications & Registration Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Critical Care Nursing course certification.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
  • Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • Two years of continuous recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU.
  • Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), IV Therapy.
  • Essential experience in physical assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
