Responsibilities:
As a Theatre Scrub Nurse/ODP in Ophthalmology, your duties will include:
- Preparing the Operating Theatre for ophthalmic surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile, functional, and ready
- Assisting Surgeons and the Team during ophthalmic procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and surgical support
- Providing Patient Care throughout the perioperative phase, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative recovery
- Maintaining Sterility in the operating theatre, adhering to infection control protocols
- Monitoring the Patient's Condition throughout the surgery, supporting their safety and comfort
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure accurate patient records are maintained at all stages of the procedure
- Supporting Theatre Efficiency: Assist in managing theatre flow, ensuring minimal delays and maximum patient satisfaction
- Collaborating with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care

Requirements of the Theatre Scrub Nurse/ODP:
- NMC/HCPC Registration (required)
- Experience in Theatre, Specifically Ophthalmology
