The salary for this permanent Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse job is £39.880 - £46,480 per annum.
Main Duties:
- Responsible for the facilitation, promotion and supervision of education, clinical practices and audit.
- To lead clinical workstreams such as infection prevention and control or medication management.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local and national policies and legislation which govern service provision.
- Identifying and contributing to others’ training needs.
- Supporting, supervising and coaching less experienced colleagues within the multidisciplinary team.
- Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the evidence-based care required, including health promotion for named service users.
- Supporting others in the delivery of assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the evidence-based care required, including health promotion for named service users.
- Setting quality standards, including monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
- Understanding and meeting their professional role and responsibilities under the Care Programme Approach and all other relevant legislation.
- Ensuring the Mental Health Act 1983 requirements are observed, adhered to and implemented.
- Promoting carer and service user involvement within the service and its provision.
- Establishing therapeutic relationships with service users and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions with appropriate boundaries per the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code.
Requirements of the Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse:
- Registered Nurse
- NMC registration
- Coaching Qualification
- Evidence of appropriate post-graduate learning
- Assessor and Mentorship qualification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Experience within a mental health rehabilitative environment or working with a similar service user group
- Demonstration of understanding of CQC regulations
- Working Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and changes with Mental Health Act 2007
- Working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
