The Role:
As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will join a 14-bed mixed inpatient ward specializing in acute care and assessment for older adults with functional mental health needs. The ward is part of Jersey’s Mental Health inpatient unit, which is undergoing an exciting service update.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Ward Manager, Charge Nurses, and the wider clinical team to deliver exceptional care.
  • Act as a primary nurse, leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex needs.
  • Apply research and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and set a high standard of care.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced and unregistered staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Confidently assume shift leadership duties in the absence of Charge Nurses.
  • Utilize electronic record-keeping systems effectively, requiring strong IT skills.

Requirements:

  • 1st Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
  • Proven experience in mental health nursing post-qualification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NMC Code (2015).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic keyboard and IT skills.
