Overview:

  • As post holder of this role you will be joining a 14-bed mixed inpatient ward that primarily supports older adults requiring acute care and assessment to meet their functional mental health needs. The ward is part of the Mental Health inpatient unit, which is about to undergo a service update.
  • Successful candidates will work closely with the Ward Manager, Charge Nurses, and the wider clinical team, helping to lead, plan, deliver, and implement care for patients with more complex needs. As a key member of the team, you will act as a primary nurse, responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating care for patients with diverse conditions and requirements.
  • You will also serve as a role model by applying research and evidence-based practices to ensure the highest quality of care. In this role, you will support and supervise less experienced and unregistered staff, and in the absence of the Charge Nurses, you will confidently take on shift leadership duties. The use of electronic record-keeping is essential in this service, so candidates must demonstrate strong IT skills.
