The Role
Clinical Leadership:
- Deliver and oversee high-quality, evidence-based care for young people with eating disorders.
- Assess, plan, and manage care for clients with complex needs.
- Provide expert guidance to your team in acute and chronic situations.
- Ensure patient dignity and involvement in care planning.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns and uphold patient safety protocols.
Team Management & Development:
- Act as a professional role model, setting high standards of care.
- Supervise, appraise, and support team members, fostering professional growth.
- Organise and manage team workloads, ensuring safe staffing levels.
- Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts.
Service Improvement:
- Lead service developments and policy updates.
- Use data and audit findings to enhance care quality and safety.
- Promote evidence-based practice and drive continuous improvement.
Education & Training:
- Mentor students and junior staff, providing a supportive learning environment.
- Lead training initiatives to enhance team skills and competencies.
- Stay updated on current therapies and trends in eating disorder care.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Essential:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Experience in CAMHS and managing eating disorder cases.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to implement quality improvement initiatives.
Desirable:
- Training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, or systemic therapy.
- Crisis management experience and knowledge of research methodologies.
