Sanctuary Personnel is inviting applications for the position of Senior Occupational Therapist for a permanent full-time role with our client, a reputable healthcare facility in Dublin.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to play an integral and active role in a friendly, dynamic, and supportive Multidisciplinary Team, making a significant contribution in the area of rehabilitation.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will have overall responsibility to:
- Provide Occupational Therapy Services within a compliant framework.
- Ensure the highest standard of clinical care in Occupational Therapy, aligned with local and national standards.
- Deliver efficient, effective, and economic Occupational Therapy Services within a defined budgetary framework.
- Coordinate and supervise peer-support worker activities.
- Be an active member of the Clinical Governance Committee and assist in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.
- Foster the continued development of research and provide teaching, research, and academic support when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment and intervention programmes for patients and residents, in line with professional standards.
- Collaboration with patients, residents, families, carers, and other staff in goal setting and treatment and intervention planning.
- Participate in and work closely with the multidisciplinary and healthcare team.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records of assessments, interventions, and discussions relating to patients and residents.
- Manage the practice education of student therapists and promote and engage in the teaching, training, and support of others as appropriate.
The Successful Candidate Will Meet the Following Requirements:
- Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification, and be eligible for membership with the AOTI.
- Have three years of full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post-qualification clinical experience.
- Have established clinical experience in the area of mental health rehabilitation, serious and enduring mental health conditions, or cognitive rehabilitation in the area of Acquired Brain Injury.
- Strong clinical experience in working with a team of diverse clinicians and a strong knowledge of the concepts and operation of Clinical Governance.
- Ability to manage and play a key role in the practice education of student therapists, and promote and engage in the teaching, training, and support of others as appropriate.
- Have a good knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Display strong and positive interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Demonstrate a person-centred care approach.
