Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Responsible Individual within the Fostering Service to work Full Time for a well-established & reputable Independent Fostering Agency based in West London.

The salary for this permanent Responsible Individual job is up to £60,000per annum.

Main duties:

  • To ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meets the needs of users and children.
  • To act as the Responsible Individual on behalf of the agency to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory activities.
  • To ensure we maintain a strong child centred approach in all that we do and enable the agency to best manage these user relationships.
  • To develop an annual business plan, monitoring progress through the quarterly reviews of the agency.
  • To effectively manage and predict the current and future financial requirements.
  • To ensure that the service achieves Outstanding or Good in all Ofsted inspections.
  • To develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including foster carers, foster carer representatives, local authorities, OFSTED and staff to embrace a strong culture of partnership working.
  • To manage, develop and communicate foster carer capacity and capability in order to optimise the offering to customers.
  • To communicate the vision, objectives and plans to staff and foster carers to achieve commitment and ownership.
  • To ensure that operations issues are resolved in a fair, equitable and consistent manner to ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards and systems.
  • To ensure the highest standards and best practice in HR are followed at all times including workforce planning, safer recruitment, absence management, appraisal, supervision, conduct and capability.
  • To review the organisational structure with respect to performance and direction of the company, utilising workforce data to analyse trends, review skills mix and ensure skills across the agency are matched with need to maximise efficiency and outcomes.
  • Active planning in making positive and creative contributions with respect to cross cutting agendas – for example capital expenditure and projects.
  • To effectively review, resource and align the support services in line with the needs of the core operation and customer requirements.
  • To monitor and collate management information to support continuous improvement and the strategic planning for the service.

Requirements of this Responsible Individual role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Level 5 – Leadership and management or at least level 4.
  • At least two years of fostering experience within last five years.
  • At least one year experience of supervising and manging professional staff.
