Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Fostering Registered Manager to work Full Time for based in Slough, for Slough Children First.

The salary for this permanent Fostering Registered Manager job is up to £69,216 per annum.

Main duties:

  • As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and operational management of the agency, principally the foster carers recruitment, assessment work, supervision, training and supporting carers and their children and young people.
  • To act as OFSTED Registered Manager for the Independent Fostering Agency, ensuring our services are fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly The Fostering Services and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering.
  • Drive the organizational strategy in a forward-thinking and innovative way ensuring that targets and key performance indicators are achieved and exceeded in in line with the agency’s service/business plan.
  • To take strategic and operational leadership in recruiting, training, and supervision foster carers in line with regulations, local targets and good practice guidance to provide the best standards of care for looked after children and young people.
  • To provide effective and efficient management of fostering team staff, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and departmental eligibility criteria in order to meet local and national policies and standards.
  • To report to and sit on Fostering Panel as an advisor or social work representative, where appropriate.
  • To plan and monitor the team’s performance using management information systems and regular direct observation of work.
  • To oversee and monitor case recording and decision making, including chairing meetings, conferences and reviews as required and to have regular meetings with colleagues to ensure the effective flow of work and the transfer of cases.
  • To supervise members of the Fostering Service and undertake regular personal and case supervision and appraisals.
  • Responsible for participating in case auditing activity across the service (and with partner agencies as required) to secure the highest possible standards of social work and other safeguarding practice and record keeping and to act in accordance with requirements of statutory guidance.
  • To maintain, monitor and review accurate records of all work undertaken ensuring recording information is accurate and up to date, including comprehensive use of the Integrated Children’s System and Charms.
  • To offer an advice and consultancy service to social work colleagues in relation to fostering matters.
  • To undertake risk assessments and ensure the health, safety and welfare of visitors, service users and staff is maintained in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • To deputise for the Head of Service and other practice managers (children’s), acting as a representative on external groups, court/care proceedings and undertaking additional duties as required.

Requirements of this Fostering Registered Manager role:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
  • Level 5 Diploma/Management qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Past Management experience.
