Salary: £28,000 - £34,812 per annum + £3000 welcome bonus. (This bonus is offered to those commencing substantive employment between 1st January 2024 and 30th June 2024 in a hands-on patient care role requiring NMC or HCPC registration. The bonus is paid in two parts: £1500 after successful completion of a 3-month probation period and £1500 after 12 months of employment. For part-time positions, the bonus is pro-rata.)

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for an experienced professional to join our client's Endoscopy Team on a full-time or part-time basis in Somerset.

In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care and actively contribute to the management of the Endoscopy Unit. Responsibilities include maintaining and using specialised endoscopic equipment, providing technical assistance during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Shift Pattern:

  • Full-time or part-time
  • Coverage from Monday - Sunday
  • Shifts: 08:00 am - 18:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set, monitor, and maintain excellent standards of nursing care in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe practices.
  • Foster a friendly environment, maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, and respecting their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy.
  • Maintain timely and accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Store, check, and administer drugs according to established standards and guidelines.
  • Work with minimal supervision during endoscopic procedures, including the admission and recovery of patients.
  • Address and resolve informal and formal complaints at a local level.
  • Care for and maintain endoscopes and other specialised equipment, ensuring proper decontamination and accurate traceability records.
  • Ensure the safe discharge of all patients from the Endoscopy unit.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment within the clinical area.
  • Triage and pre-assess patients against specific criteria to ensure suitability for procedures.

Requirements:

  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Demonstrable record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Knowledge and current experience in professional practice within an Endoscopy department.
