Pay Rate: £265 per day (assignment class)

Contract Length: Initial contract is 6 months

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm

Main Duties of the Programme Leader:

  • Teach an agreed Skills for Life (SfL) programme of study, totaling at least 10 hours of instruction plus 5 hours of preparation (FTE), utilizing a variety of approaches to maximize learners' achievement and success. This may be reviewed based on service needs and demands.
  • Negotiate and agree on learning outcomes, then monitor, assess, review, and record learners' progress and achievement.
  • Provide appropriate pre-course and on-course information, advice, and assessments to support learners' progress and identify potential next steps.
  • Ensure learners are correctly enrolled and report their attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Ensure that any approved visitors present in the classroom or service buildings comply with the policies of the service.
  • Conduct Observations of Teaching, Learning & Assessment, including Learning Walks and Action Plan follow-ups, and complete the associated reports. Address issues of identified poor performance.
  • Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and standardisation activities as required by the Programme Manager.
  • Identify and address ESOL and literacy needs, ensuring their development. Utilize flexible learning and inclusion of digital skills to enhance and facilitate both in-classroom and online learning.

 Requirements of the Programme Leader:

  • Degree or equivalent Level 4 qualification, and a generic adult teaching/training qualification at Level 5 (e.g., DET/PGCE or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year in a similar role.
  • Proof of eligibility to work and live in the UK, current DBS check, and two references.
