Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an experienced Integrated Midwife to work with our client and to provide autonomous, evidence-based, women-centred midwifery care. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, other agencies, representatives, and service users. The successful candidate will deliver care both on the ward and in the community, working day and night shifts within a rota period.
Job Summary:
- Work within the maternity team to deliver midwifery care throughout the pregnancy continuum in both maternity units and community settings.
- Coordinate and deliver high standards of evidence-based practice for all families within the community caseload.
- Participate in the on-call rota for the maternity unit.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Advocate for women, promoting and delivering the highest standard of midwifery care, ensuring adherence to current policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Develop flexible, high-quality individual models of care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate midwifery care using evidence-based practices.
- Accurately record observations and maintain care plans, including electronic records, in line with NMC standards.
- Monitor and interpret women's conditions, identify deviations from normal, and carry out necessary midwifery interventions.
- Keep women and their families informed, maintaining confidentiality.
- Ensure midwifery care meets the diverse needs of women and their families.
- Comply with policies for medication management and administration.
- Undertake relevant clinical skills as per guidelines.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient woman-centred care.
- Examine and observe neonates, identifying deviations from normal and performing necessary interventions.
- Deliver and evaluate parenthood preparation programs and incorporate health education into care.
- Identify and manage at-risk families, devise care plans with healthcare professionals, and engage in multidisciplinary safeguarding practices.
- Attend multiagency meetings and maintain close working relationships with other professionals regarding safeguarding.
- Monitor compliance with child protection plans and write relevant reports.
- Engage with women and their families to avoid and resolve complaints.
Organisation, Management, and Leadership:
- Act as a role model in service user care.
- Participate in team working, innovation, and practice development in both community and hospital settings.

- Collaborate with the midwifery management team to develop services for low-risk midwifery provision.
- Participate in the implementation and evaluation of ongoing professional development and training for the community midwifery team.

Person Specification:
Essential:
- Registered Midwife with valid NMC registration.
- Completed preceptorship programme.
- Experience in midwifery across various clinical settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of current midwifery issues.
Desirable:
- Degree in Midwifery Studies.
- Experience in developing community roles and guidelines.
- NIPE qualification.
- Presentation skills and experience in report production.
