- The salary for this Midwife role is £61,529 - £65,805 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
- Personalized Care: Provide accountable care for service users and their babies, acting as the lead professional for low-risk cases and coordinating care for high-risk cases in collaboration with the obstetric team.
- Collaborative Approach: Partner with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure healthy outcomes, particularly in cases with deviations from the norm. Arrange interpreting services for service users and families with limited English proficiency.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Offer effective leadership and serve as a role model. Supervise and teach both qualified and unqualified staff as needed.
- Clinical Excellence: Perform essential clinical tasks such as urinalysis, blood sugar testing, venepuncture, cannulation, and more. Accurately document findings in electronic patient records and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Medical Support: Assist doctors during medical procedures, including instrumental and operative deliveries, maintaining competency in these areas.
- Education and Counseling: Provide comprehensive advice and counseling to service users and their families, discussing care options and directing them to relevant resources and support services.
- Professional Development: Recognize professional limitations and engage in continuous development, maintaining a portfolio for NMC revalidation.
- Service Improvement: Contribute to the review, development, and enhancement of maternity services through quality audits, policy updates, and guideline contributions.
- Risk Management: Actively participate in risk management, report learning points through DATIX, and collaborate to improve service delivery in line with clinical governance.
- Medication Safety: Ensure the safe administration, storage, and handling of medicines. Collaborate with service users, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals to provide accurate medication information.
- Safeguarding: Identify safeguarding concerns and make relevant referrals to ensure service users and families receive necessary support.
- Birth Support: Confidently support service users birthing in diverse settings, including consultant-led labor wards, midwifery-led units, and home births.
Requirements
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification.
- Certified in Basic Adult Life Support.
- Safeguarding Level 3 qualification.
- Certifications in PROMPT, BFI, cannulation, and venepuncture.
- Qualified in the Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE).
- Certified in Neonatal Life Support.
