The salary for this permanent Hospital Manager / Registered Manager job is up to £63,250 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Provide professional leadership and hands-on management support, guiding staff activities and influencing their practices and attitudes to foster a positive work environment.
  • Assume line management responsibilities for the senior management team and lead clinicians, providing operational support and direction, and ensuring that performance standards are established and met.
  • Oversee the setting and monitoring of budgets, capital, and revenue within the hospital, ensuring financial goals are achieved.
  • Take full responsibility for recruitment, employment, and workplace practices, ensuring compliance with Employment Law and contractual obligations. This includes managing induction, training, and support to meet the hospital's statutory responsibilities, emphasising the organisation's values and high-performance standards.
  • Actively participate in the hospital management group, occasionally taking on additional responsibilities related to events such as investigations, disciplinary or grievance hearings, and providing management support to other services as needed.
  • Develop and implement an annual business development plan to support the growth and enhancement of existing and new hospital services.
  • Represent the hospital at conferences and marketing events, acting as an ambassador to promote its mission and services.
  • Lead the management of on-call systems, including providing out-of-hours support to the team.
  • Ensure that all individuals receiving care are actively involved in their assessments, support plans, person-centred plans, and ongoing reviews.
  • Oversee the financial accounting systems at the hospital, managing both organisational and patient finances.
  • Ensure that the health, welfare, and safeguarding needs of all individuals are effectively met in accordance with legislation.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to lead the review process, ensuring that review reports are professionally prepared and submitted on time. Chair review meetings as needed and facilitate active involvement from individuals receiving care.

Requirements of the Hospital Manager / Registered Manager:

  • Must have previous experience as a Registered Manager, with a background in managing a clinical team. While a clinical qualification or an active nurse PIN is desirable, it is not essential.
  • Completion of QCF (NVQ) Level 5 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements, legislation, and desired outcomes in the health and social care sector.
  • Proven experience and deep understanding of delivering high-quality residential services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for individuals in care.
  • Competence in managing and guiding staff, including clinicians, through formal supervisions and appraisals to maintain and enhance quality and morale.
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet specified deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, including attending training sessions and meetings.
