Are you an experienced nursing professional looking for a new challenge? Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to join our client's well-established team providing care within a 32-bed locked service. This facility offers specialised support to two distinct groups of male patients:

  • Ward 1 focuses on the active rehabilitation of individuals with mental health challenges. The emphasis is on stabilising mental health, reducing risks, and enhancing independent living skills to support reintegration into the community. This is a 16-bed ward.
  • Ward 2 provides care for individuals with dementia and behaviours that challenge, also accommodating 16 patients.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high-quality care in a therapeutic environment. You will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and receive support from an on-site Consultant Psychiatrist.

About You:

You will play a vital role in ensuring their patients receive the best possible care, working as a respected member of the broader medical team. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to developing best practices and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day nursing input on the wards.
  • Offer senior nursing leadership to the ward team, supporting the Ward Manager.
  • Take on delegated responsibilities, utilising your clinical experience to guide and inspire the nursing staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of clinical care meets the highest standards and contributes to ongoing improvements in patient care.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a mental health or dementia care setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a nursing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the MDT and other healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to professional development and delivering high standards of care.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations with resilience and professionalism.
  • A passion for improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of care.
