The salary for this permanent Clinical Optometrist job is £45,000 - £52,500 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Assess and counsel patients for cataract surgery, thoroughly discussing expected outcomes.
  • Clearly explain the risks and benefits of surgery in a compassionate manner, tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Provide continuous reassurance throughout the patient journey, from initial consultation to post-operative care.
  • Ensure effective post-operative management in collaboration with medical staff.
  • Perform YAG laser procedures following appropriate training.

Requirements of the Clinical Optometrist:

  • GOC-registered Optometrist with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience
  • Motivated to develop professionally with a keen interest in clinical optometry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of clinical governance with a commitment to providing the highest quality of care to all patients
