The salary for this permanent Clinical Specialist Mammographer job is £54,500 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Quality Control: Conduct and oversee quality control procedures for mammography to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Manage all administrative tasks related to the Mammography service, following the directives of the Superintendent Mammographer and Imaging Manager.
  • System Management: Operate and maintain proficiency in using the PACS and DR/CR systems.
  • Department Flexibility: Be ready to work at the main hospital or any satellite departments as needed.
  • Site Rotation: Engage in the rotation schedule of Mammographers to other HCA locations when required.
  • Clinic Participation: Actively participate in symptomatic breast clinics and provide assistance with vacuum-assisted biopsies as necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with radiologists to deliver comprehensive imaging and diagnostic services to patients in the breast unit.

Requirements of the Clinical Specialist Mammographer:

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-graduate experience with a post-DCR qualification in Mammography.
  • Understanding of processes and procedures related to mammography.
  • Experience with Hologic equipment is desirable.
  • Certification as a Radiation Protection Supervisor is desirable.
