The salary for this permanent Clinical Specialist Radiographer job is £54,645 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Skillfully perform a wide range of PET-CT and CT procedures, ensuring a consistently high standard of care.
  • Act as an Operator under IR(ME)R17 regulations.
  • Rotate between the THSC and LOC departments as needed.
  • Prioritise patient cases to maximise efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborate with reporting consultants to discuss and clarify requests for complex examinations.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new staff members.
  • Adhere to legislative and hospital policies, particularly those related to Radiation Protection and Infection Control, to ensure patient safety.
  • Support patient bookings and carry out administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to departmental audits in line with clinical governance policies.
  • Ensure quality assurance checks on equipment are performed according to departmental policy, promptly report faults, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work independently, seeking guidance from the superintendent or medical staff when needed.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of new departmental policies.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care through adherence to good clinical practices.

Requirements of the Clinical Specialist Radiographer:

  • BSc in Radiography or equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registration required
  • Previous experience in CT imaging
  • Professional experience in PET-CT is desirable
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of PET-CT is essential
