The salary for this permanent Clinical Lead Nurse/Team Leader job is £40,000 - £42,607.50 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Guide and support the nursing team to elevate the quality of care provided. Offer advice and assistance to both colleagues and families, clearly delegating tasks to ensure safe and effective practice while evaluating team performance.
  • Oversee the care for a designated group of service users. Coordinate with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, and their families to plan and manage care. Evaluate how new policies affect care delivery.
  • Work alongside the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager to assess and admit new service users in partnership with Health and Social Services commissioners. Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans based on the latest evidence and best practices.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all service user interactions, following legal and procedural standards, whether in digital or paper format.
  • Ensure that all clinical staff, including yourself, receive documented supervision and professional development as required by our clients standards. Maintain high clinical standards through regular competency assessments.
  • Identify and address the training needs of staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices within the workplace.
  • Educate and support patients, their families, and colleagues through both formal and informal teaching methods. Mentor students and evaluate their skills as necessary.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Handle additional reasonable tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the service.

Requirements of the Clinical Lead Nurse/Team Leader:

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant experience in palliative or neurological care, tailored to specific service needs
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide a clinical team
  • Understanding of up-to-date legislation and regulations in the independent care sector
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations with service users and their families
  • Competence in negotiation and resolving conflicts
  • Ability to manage and adapt to changes effectively while maintaining performance
  • Experience in delivering teaching and mentoring within a clinical environment
