The salary for this permanent Orthopaedic Team Leader job is £42,000 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Support the Theatre Manager in leading, mentoring, advising, and evaluating staff to identify and address development needs. Develop and implement personal development plans for ongoing staff growth.
  • Supervise and educate junior staff, including Registered General Nurses (RGNs) and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), and provide clinical supervision.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the Operating Department by promoting excellence in clinical care.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise while leading, managing, and delivering superior clinical care.
  • Prepare the operating theatre for surgery by ensuring the necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are available for specific procedures, and minimising waste.
  • Evaluate patients' health and well-being across a complex and dynamic caseload.

Requirements of the Orthopaedic Team Leader:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
  • Must hold a valid HCPC or NMC registration
  • Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic scrub experience required
  • Proven ability to work effectively in teams and independently with minimal supervision
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous, but we provide award-winning training and continuous professional development (CPD)
  •  Completion of SFA (Surgical First Assistant) training is desirable
