The salary for this permanent Clinical Team Leader job is £42,500 - £46,500 per annum.

About the Role:

  • As postholder of this role, you will be expected to manage a team of Registered nurses and Healthcare assistants ensuring the effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of holistic care for an identified group of service users.
  • Be responsible to ensure effective performance management of all clinical staff in line with Brainkind policies and procedures for recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisal and discipline.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible to lead the nursing team in developing the quality of nursing care, acting as a source of support and advice to colleagues and relatives.
  • Delegating clearly and appropriately, adopting the principles of safe practice and assessing competence.
  • Takes responsibility for a service user group, consulting and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, family/carers over their care.
  • Assess the impact of policy implementation on care delivery
  • In consultation with the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager, assess potential service users in liaison with Health and / or Social Services commissioners.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate individualised care using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Produces accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of service user consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures, whether in a handwritten or electronic format.
  • Ensure all clinical staff (including self) receive formal documented supervision / clinical supervision in line with professional and statutory requirements. Promotes and demonstrates the highest clinical standards and assess through monitoring competencies
  • Ensures the identification of training needs, and support staff in their development. Actively promotes the workplace as a learning environment, encouraging everyone to learn from each other and from external good practice
  • Providing an educational role to patients, carers, families and colleagues in an environment that facilitates learning.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching.
  • Act as mentor to students, assessing competence against set standards as requested and if appropriately qualified
  • Maintain an understanding of and to act in accordance with all policies and procedures
  • In order to facilitate the safe and smooth running of the Service, employees are expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks.

 

 

Requirements of the Clinical Team Leader:

  • Registered Nurse qualification or a relevant degree.
  • Experience in specialist palliative or neurological care, depending on the service’s needs.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and influencing teams within a clinical environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current legislation applicable to the independent care sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong self-motivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the capability to deliver difficult information to service users and their families.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in managing change and performance effectively.
  • Capability to provide teaching and mentorship within a clinical setting.
